Overdraft

An arranged overdraft lets you borrow money when you don’t have enough, but it’s only meant for a short time. With the Graduate account you can apply for an arranged overdraft of up to £3,000. It will be interest-free for two years and there is no set up or annual fee.

What are the overdraft rates?

Years of full-time 3rd level educationAvailable overdraft limitInterest rate
3 yearsUp to £1,5000%
4 yearsUp to £2,0000%
5 yearsUp to £3,0000%

You can find out how likely you are to be approved for an overdraft by using our overdraft eligibility tool. By using this tool, you confirm that you’re happy for us to run a soft credit check against your name. This means that it will not affect your credit score or ability to get credit somewhere else.

What happens after the two year interest free period?

You don’t need to do anything. We’ll automatically change your account to a Clear account and your overdraft rate will go up. We’ll let you know about this change by email or letter at least 2 months before the change.
