18 April 2016

Omagh is getting ready to host Ireland’s first mobile business conference at Omagh Enterprise Centre on Friday 20th May.

The conference ‘DO Mobile’ is organised by Digital Omagh and is sponsored by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Omagh Enterprise Centre and Bank of Ireland. It will focus on bringing local businesses, innovators and experts together to explore and share their knowledge around the question – How can you run a better business using a mobile device?

The conference will explore practical applications through a range of local business success stories and consider how digital content and apps can be used to achieve maximum impact on businesses. It will also focus on the best use of mobile technology in four key areas; sales and marketing, finance and operations, local business case studies and an iPhonography masterclass with Ireland’s leading international award winning iPhoneographer Brendan O’Se.

Hilary Nelson, Commercial Branch Manager Omagh, Bank of Ireland UK added, “Bank of Ireland UK is delighted to be supporting DO Mobile. This event gives local businesses the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the apps available and how they can benefit their business. We’ll be there on the day to demonstrate how our apps work and how they can help make banking easier and more accessible for your business, as well as more efficient.”

Nicholas O’Shiel, Chief Executive of Omagh Enterprise Company said; “The aim of the conference is to connect people, share knowledge, experience and insights into the world of mobile technology and look at local businesses who are doing it well. Delegates will discover how mobile business makes sense in that it can save money, increase sales and above all help them ‘do’ business better. We are delighted to have Brendan O’Se as our keynote speaker.

“He will not only help build delegate’s confidence in using mobile photography but will also provide helpful tips and advice. A place on the conference is essential for those who want to learn how to maximise the potential of their mobile devices for business.”

The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, welcomed the conference on mobile working for businesses saying “over 80% of the population now use digital technologies such as mobile phones and iPads for staying connected and doing business. They are faster, more versatile and can reach a wider audience and are becoming an ever-more essential tool for small businesses which are the lifeblood of our local economy. The Council is committed to supporting the business sector in the district and is delighted to be a sponsor of the DO Mobile conference, which will benefit local businesses”.

Tickets for the conference are £10. For further information on DO Mobile visit www.digitalomagh.org or on twitter @DigitalOmagh
