Modernised Bank of Ireland Glengormley branch host ‘meet the team’ event

Jonathan Reilly, Glengormley Branch Manager, recently welcomed customers and representatives from local community organisations to take a tour of the newly modernised branch followed by a reception. The refurbishment is part of Bank of Ireland’s £7m investment in branches and new technology services in Northern Ireland.

Those in attendance included The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross, a number of the Ballyclare RFC Bank of Ireland Towns Cup winning team and Kyleigh Lough from the Mae Murray Foundation.

Speaking at the event, the Mayor said: “I’m delighted to see the impressive facilities and significant investment by Bank of Ireland into its branch here in Glengormley.  I believe it is a real and tangible demonstration of its commitment to the local community which  has been warmly welcomed by the customers and communities it serves both in Glengormley, and across the wider Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough area.

The Mae Murray Foundation is a lived experience organisation in which those who face exclusion due to disability, medical condition or the caring role, design solutions to enable members to take part in social and leisure settings by breaking down barriers.  The Foundation was recently supported by Bank of Ireland through its Begin Together Community Funding to enable families who experience barriers to inclusion to enjoy a day out at the beach, something we all take for granted.  Through the project, the Mae Murray Foundation partnered with beach operators to provide personal care equipment to families so they could enjoy a day at the beach, improving their mental and physical wellbeing.
