Banking at the Post Office

Bank of Ireland UK offers both personal and business customers access to a range of services at Post Office branches within the United Kingdom.

More information about enhanced Post Office services for business customers will be available shortly.

The following services are available at Post Office branches:

• Paying in cash

  You will need your Bank of Ireland UK debit card, Cash card or Quick Lodge card for the account you want to pay in to.

  If you pay the cash in before 4.30pm on a working day, it will reach your account on the same working day. If you pay the cash in after 4.30pm, or on a non-working day, it will reach your account on the next working day.

  The current limits below will apply to the amount of cash you can pay into your account.

  Personal Account Customers – limits per account holder

  	Current Limit
  Annual Cash limit *	£10,000
  Daily Cash limit (Including £250 coin)	£2,000

  Business Account Customers – limits per account

  	Current Limit
  Annual Cash limit *	£250,000
  Daily Cash limit (Including £250 coin)	£10,000

  *The annual cash limit will be on a rolling basis.  This will start from cash paid in from 27 April 2023 so it doesn’t matter how much you have paid in before this date.

  ¹Quick Lodge cards are only available to business customers

• Lodge cheques

  You can make a cheque lodgement using a pre-printed lodgement slip (from your cheque or lodgement book) and a Bank of Ireland UK special purpose paying-in envelope. Bank of Ireland UK special purpose paying –in envelopes are available at both Bank of Ireland UK branches and Post Office outlets.

• Cash withdrawal in pounds in the UK

  You can withdraw cash using your Bank of Ireland UK debit card or Cash card. The cash will be debited from your account immediately.

• Check your balance

  You can check your balance using your Bank of Ireland UK debit card or Cash card.
